6 7 10 6 10 10 005

“Who is it Thibbs?”

“Who do you see?”

6 7 10 6 10 10 008

“Look, Chloe, it’s some of those nice

people that stop by at our blog now and then!”

2010 Spring Alabama april may 403

“Well, mind your manners , dear, and invite them on in to sit on the porch a spell…”

6 7 10 6 10 10 010

“Y’all come right on in and stay awhile…

I was just getting ready to see if Chloe would like to join me in a romping good playtime…

why, if she’s not to obliging may haps you would like to play!”

6 7 10 6 10 10 154 6 7 10 6 10 10 157

“As fun as that was, this time of year it’s rather warm here in the deep south…

and I, young Thibby, feel a Big Pyr nap coming on…”

“Say good-bye to our company for me…”

6 7 10 6 10 10 036

“We were extremely happy to spend a few days back in the country this past week…

We will jump at the chance every time the chance comes around to go play at home!!!

We get to run and play and bark all day, if we want to…

And its oft’ quiet enough that a Pyr can nap for a good while before a loud farm truck or tractor needs directions on how to keep on going to get well past our place…

(honestly, I’m not all that sure how they manage getting down our road without my help when we are not around!) …”

“Thibby…”

“Yes, Chloe…?”

“It’s time to rest…

you’ve talked enough…

tell the good people good-bye”

“Oh,well…You heard Chloe…y’all have a good time and we will be looking forward to seeing you again real soon…

…think I’ll go see if Momma feels like a good afternoon playtime!

Bye-now!”

“Hey, Momma, you want to play!?!?!”

Lap sitting, an intricate but manageable art…

“I was thinking that maybe some of the younger pups out there could use a few pointers on the intricate but, very manageable art of lap sitting…

4 09 moms day week 286

 Start them out young!

When you first come home and are still that itty-bitty welter weight of somewhere between 12 and 20 pounds snuggle on up and rub some of that cuteness all over ‘em!

This is VERY important!

Now be sure and don’t wiggle or squirm too much.. they will come to the poor, poor conclusion that you are just not a lap puppy!

Whoa is be if that should happen!

4 09 moms day week 660

It would help your cause a lot here if you “Perfect” the Big eyed sweet puppy look at this time

7 29 09 Sewing puppie and bo 035c sweet sugar

A little sugar (kisses) now and then will not hurt your cause.

As time goes by you will want to visit the laps of those that live in your house quite often.

This way , any added weight or leg length should pretty well go unnoticed…

Now, always be sure

and sit at just the right angle so that your person may still watch his or her favorite shows on the television…

this will help cut down on their squirming about…

Just always remember,

your humans are manageable and can be well trained when using lots of practice, love and patients …

When your humans lap is not readily available …

look around and see what else there is that will aid  your comfort…

when all else fails , those fluffy puppy beds they have all over the house for you will do…

However, think about this now…

Those leather recliners or couches would do quite fine !

Until next time…

Remember in the heat of summer to have your human turn down the air conditioner for the added comfort! “

Thibby & Chloe love the country way of life…

2010 Spring Alabama april may 299

Thibodeaux: Welcome back, it’s been quite awhile..

a lot’s been happening around here since last we spoke…

Momma has been working awful hard around the place and on week-ends our Dad comes over and they go to Albertville to help out over there..

something to do with a tornado…

and our Momma’s Mama…

I thought “tornado” was part of my name??

Oh, well I will have to ask Chloe about that…

anyway…

We have been having lots of fun,

but it sure has been getting hot,

I have been told that’s pert normal for

the deep south…

we will lay in the shade and cool off quite a bit, but

sometimes we have to

“Guard the yard”

and that can get to be quite a HOT job when you are wearing a big fur coat.

So ,Momma brought  home 2 Big Dawg water bowls for the yard…kinda funny if you ask me..we don’t drink our big water pail dry…but, women can be funny like that sometimes…

speaking of funny…

Shhhh…

now don’t you go telling this…

but, Chloe will JUMP right in that big ‘ole water bowl…

yep, with all 4 feet!!

Never seen such in all my life…

just don’t quite know what to think …

you know with

all this talk about her being royalty

“a Princess”

and all…

and

then she’ll just go and jump right in MY water dish!

Notes Between Sisters and a Little Brother

Carrie said...
I am so glad that y'all have a blog of your very own and look forward to hearing of the adventures you have with Momma and Daddy!

Love,Little Big Sister

PS: Thibby, stay off the bed.

But Carrie..Miss Bo-Bo ,the cat, sleeps there!!!

Why can't I?

Thibodeaux,That question is easily answered. You see, it isn't that Momma and Daddy will allow Miss Bo-Bo to sleep in the bed and not you. That wouldn't be fair! It's that Miss Bo-Bo allows them to sleep in the bed, and has instructed them that puppies aren't allowed. You and I both know that she likes you very much, but we must allow her to keep up the facade of feline superiority and disdain. Should other cats somehow find out (I'm sure they have some sort of network) that she let puppies sleep in her bed, then she would probably suffer great ridicule, and perhaps even ostracism. I hope that helps. Remember, when Momma or Daddy tell you to get out of the bed it is just because Miss Bo-Bo has asked them to.

Chloe, i am so glad that you are getting to visit some of your favorite spots! it is really very nice of you to share the hydrangea bush with thibodeaux too!thibs, i just know that momma was happy that you helped her play her stick and broom games today. she told me all about it earlier. it was thoughtful of you to set up the broom court for her to have another go round!i don't know if chloe has told you, but there are more animals that may or may not come to visit. keep your eyes open for the neighborly pig, a stray turtle, and a really bright non-flying flyer with a really big 'ol tail. momma will call that a peacock. you never know, some new folks may be there now too!

Oh, Carrie..sometimes I just have to shake my head and roll my eyes at this boy!! Last night he ran around in the wet yard and got his belly all muddy..when Momma let him in..she couldn't catch him with his towel before he made a bee-line for her bed! Needless to say..she was not at all to thrilled..I just layed my head down and pretended to be asleep..what else is a girl to do?
Love and cold nose prints! Chloe

Thibodeaux said...

BUT, CARRIE!!! You said I couldn't get on the bed 'cause of Miss Bo-Bo..and she's in SC...So why would Chloe roll her eyes and "blow" at me?
Big wet kisses, Thibby

Carrie said...
Well, Thibodeaux, Chloe probably picked up the eye-rolling and blowing from Daddy. Don't feel too badly about Momma not letting you in bed with a muddy tummy and feet. When I was little she used to make me wash my feet before bed. I think that's why I can't get to sleep now if my feet and legs don't feel clean. Hmph. I know that Miss Bo-bo is at your other house in SC, and that makes you think that you should be allowed in the bed. I'm sorry this is not the case. See, Momma doesn't want you to get used to the bed and get to really like it, only to have to take it away from you when y'all go back to Miss Bo-bo's realm. She's not being mean. She just knows that you can't miss what you don't know. I hope that the both of y'all have gotten to enjoy being around Momma on Mother's Day! Love,Little Big Sister

O.K. , O.K.
I'll get off the bed.

Home in the Country

Chloe: Ahhhh.. the country side of life is sooo beautiful this time of the year!
and I love coming "home" to our side of the mountain!
Our little place in the country is here on the side of Sand Mountain ..
My personal favorite place has always been
right out front by "my" azalea bush shaded by a couple of BIG Old oak trees...

What Princess would not love to keep an eye over her realm

while feeling the spring breeze not only blow her gracious ruff

but, bring the sweet smell of the country side right to her?

...Ahhh , it's a dream come true!...

And then there is Thibby,

Yes, oh yes there is Thibby!

He will make a fine grown Dog some day ..

because he is a fine young PUP still..

he get's so excited..

just like the other day as we road down the road

I think he may have had his "first" cow sighting!!!

(He was to young and short on our previous visits to see out the window)..

The porch here is nice and wide..

just right for me to lay at the top of the steps

and keep an eye on this side of the house

and Thibodeaux..

the other day I showed him another "good" spot

to lie in...

in front of the porch but under one of the

big old hydrangea bushes...

When I was a puppy I loved those round "snowball" flowers!

I would somehow break one off and roll it around..

very gently at first

playing with it like a "pretty ball"...

then it would always get the better of me...

and I would have to grab it and give it a GOOD shake..

after that it didn't look much like a ball

anymore...

so I would "have" to attack the bush again.

Thibodeaux: Oh, I am having so much fun!!!

I get to go out early in the mornings

and run and run and run!

When it's time to come in at night

I can barely hold my head up ,

I have had such a big day and

I am sooo tired!

I have seen some animals that Momma

calls cows..some of them have

big HORNS..

I think it would be so much fun to get in their "yard"!

Oh, and these other animals..

their legs are longer than the cows..

they come walking up "our" road

right by our fence!!!!

I have to run out to the corner and warn them

" Watch out!! Shake REAL hard..."

they just don't seem to listen!

but, I will keep trying

to help them..

I just know

they don't seem to realize there

is a person on their backs!

This morning early,

before Daddy had to return to our other house,

We played a "new" game..

They called it something like...

pick up sticks and drag limbs to a pile...

I called it

Thibby wants "that" stick!

I'd wait for Momma to have her hands full of sticks

then I would decide which one I wanted,

running up I would catch it in my mouth

then I would

pull..and pull!

I think Momma really liked this game!

She would just "chatter" and try not to drop all her sticks!

Then she would pick up more sticks..

ready to play again.

After that game

Momma and Daddy "cleaned"off our porch.

Momma took a long stick with bristles

(she calls it a broom)

and brushed and brushed that porch!

(I felt sorry for her..

she couldn't tell that

the porch had

NO pretty hair like me and Chloe!!)

I helped this afternoon,

while she was inside,

I found an old green plastic flower pot

It was full of potting soil!

I knew this would make Momma happy!

I spread it all over the porch!

Yep, she was real happy!

She got to play her broom game again!

***

We hope you have a nice shady azalea or hydrangea
bush to lie under on a warm spring afternoon,
a favorite tennis ball and
a Momma that likes to pet her puppies
and get a great big puppy kiss
now and then!

Fun at the Puppy Park

Chloe: “We, Thibodeaux and I, have been having a “large” time the past week…Our Momma has found the puppy park in Greer…(not that it was lost or we had never seen it..but, it finally dawned on her to take us)the back yard at the house is of a nice size..not to small , but not real big..yet, all the humans that live around are VERY close..Momma doesn’t care for it very much! I , myself think that it just gives us more people to watch over… Anyway, Momma said the Puppy Park would be a good place for us to go and run and play and bark all we want…there’s a lot more room there and we have met some interesting puppies and their people.."

Thibodeaux: “Chloe’s not kidding!!! I have so much fun at the park!! Chloe will play with me some..but, then she’s ready to lay down on the hill and watch over me, to make sure I don’t get into trouble! (you know how older big sisters are!) Man, oh man, do I have fun!! I watch Momma every day to see if she puts on her tennis shoes, fills our big water jug, puts her book and camera in the tote bag and then heads for our leashes..!!!..I get so excited I can barely wait..I’ll “sit” for my leash to be put on…but, Oh, my!! Momma gets to slow!!! Sometimes, I’ll have to “sit”…maybe three whole times before she can get it on my collar…Oh, I love to ride in our van!! and when it goes to the puppy park, that makes it even better!! When we get there..We can run around and check all the “mail” (scented messages) that other puppies have left and then we have gotten to play with a few puppies, too…The other day , we met “Trixie” she is a little brown dog that will jump up on the picnic table so she doesn’t look so short…we got along just fine…Chloe only had to quietly tell her not to get in Mommas tote bag one time and she minded very well…We have also met two “skinny ,tall” pups..Momma calls them Greyhounds…Ty and Chloe have not quite come to a calm decision as to how we are all going to get along so our Mommas make us stay in the opposite “yards” with a fence in between. But, that’s O.K. for now, ‘cause we can “race” up and down the fence line and have a real big time!! I heard our Mommas talking about how they were retired from the race track and how Ty came from a “Animal friendly” track but, that Freddie was at one that was cruel and sometimes they would “beat” the dogs…it’s a real good thing people like their Momma adopts them and gives them a loving home too.

When we leave the park sometimes we get to stop by Daddy’s job site…If there are a lot of men there working we get to see all kinds of things going on…but, the most fun is when they are all gone..except maybe John and Benito..Daddy will close the big gates letting us run and play all over the site…there are lots of smells to smell and lots of hills to run up and down…by the time we get in the van to go back to the house…I am so tired and ready to go home and take a nap!”

***

Chloe: “ We have a lot of fun and I am Always glad when Thibby is ready to lay beside me for a good long nap!”
