A Word from Chloe

Welcome back!

009

It’s been awhile…

We hope all y’all long haired pups have stayed nice and cool during this sweltering weather

and all y’all short haired ones have not caught the sniffles under the frigid air conditioners.

The past few weeks around here have been overtly busy for Thibby and me…

Our Older sister,

Felice came to visit and brought her husband and little one…

That shortest one is always

on the go…

he stays busy from morning till night…

About the only time I ever see him still is when I peek in his bedroom door

and find him fast asleep under his Thomas the Train quilt…

Funny, you’d think a puppy that smart would realize how much more comfy it would be to sleep on top of that quilt…

Oh, well..humans…

sometime it takes awhile to train them…

I have told Thibby to be patient with Daddy,

it is just taking longer for him to understand that

it’s quite alright for Thibby

to lay on the leather

couch.

Here in this sub-division

(as Momma calls it)

all the two legged children

have quit going away early each morning and somewhere around the time the sun is beginning

to warm up they all seem to be pulled outside by some giant unseen magnet..

They run, skate, sidewalk surf, bike ride, kick and chase balls up and down our street in front of our house!

In the back yards they kick soccer balls, hit baseballs,

and pitch some kinda ball back and forth with nets on the end of long sticks…

they climb trees and hang by their knees, they swing real high

and chase each other with loud pop guns..

All this play is accompanied by shouts and screams…

at first we thought they were in dire trouble needing

our attentions.

I have about decided some of them may just have some kinda short in their wirings and all the squealing could be akin to a small “yappy” dog…you know like some of them start barking and the switch gets kinda stuck…

On the other hand Thibodeaux is convinced some of them are young hooligans and are up to absolutely no good.

Especially when they run through our front yard

and climb the tree in our front yard..

He has to keep a close eye on them through the front side light windows..

and keep Momma informed as to their shenanigans

When we go outside,

in the back yard,

we have to wear our “bark collars” to remind us not to “talk” to these city folk…

Apparently , our big dog barks, scare some and irritate others…

it’s kinda funny we don’t bark near as much as

some of the smaller pups that live around..

but, in order to keep peace

and let all those suspicious characters go about their business we wear collars that if we bark squirts a citronella spray, it smells like lemons..YUK!!

So now when we go outside..

and those other puppies talk to us…we don’t answer.

Even when I would rather stay inside and continue a nice nap in the cool if Thibby needs to go out I accompany Momma to the deck to keep a watch over him..so nothing will happen to my little brother…

you never know what kinda of trouble could arise with all this commotion going on all around us

So you see we stay very busy

for a couple of country pups in town…

When we go inside we

get a little cookie each for being so good…

And we do love our cookies!

But, Thibbs absolute favorite treat of all is the “PONG”

yeah, yeah so the real name is a Kong..but, Momma couldn’t remember and kept calling it a Pong till that’s it’s name around here..

If Momma hasn’t thought of it that day…he will find it , take it to her and drop it in her lap…

He wasn’t to sure what to think of it the first time she fixed us one…

why that young whipper-snapper had never partaken of any peanut butter before…

Now it’s kinda like an addiction!

Yum!

Then at the end of each day, just a little while before

the sun goes down we will hear that work truck pull into the drive…

We’ll stop playing or jump up from a nap to greet our Daddy at the front door!!!

We love our Daddy and can’t wait for our afternoon petting we get when he gets home!

Thibby even gives up laying on the couch

For a good nap in our

Daddy’s lap.

Until next time…

If you are looking to find a nice cool spot for your next nap…

try the kitchen tile.

  1. Chloe, there is no telling what some of those heathen two-legged puppies are up to. I would continue to keep a close eye on them if I were you. Also, I bet you a dollar to a doughnut, or a biscuit to a pancake, that right before y'all leave that subdivision Momma doesn't make y'all wear the lemon flavored collars. Heck, she may even join you in a good ol' talkin fit outside! I can see Young Master Thibbs' logic in napping in Daddy's lap. I bet he thinks that he didn't watch him closely enough in the morning, and he got Daddy-napped, only to escape and barely make it home in time for supper. That warrants much closer supervision. Please remind Momma that Miss Bo-Bo is in charge and that whenever she says to get up is the right time. Also, she should probably nap when Bo-Bo does too! Don't forget, Chloe, you are second in command.

    Little Big Sister
